Where Level 1 on 120V takes 40+ hours to fully charge a depleted long-range EV battery, Level 2 at 40 Amps accomplishes it in 6–9 hours. For EV owners who drive significant daily mileage, own long-range EVs, or simply need charging certainty on a predictable schedule, Level 2 is the correct solution.
40 Amps — Faster Than 32, Compatible With Higher-Capacity EVs
Higher output means faster charging for vehicles whose onboard charger can accept it. At 40 Amps, the eCharge 40 Amp Level 2 adds range faster than 32 Amp units and is matched to EVs with onboard chargers in the 7.2 kW to 9.6 kW range — which covers a large portion of current EV models. Where a vehicle's onboard charger cannot accept the full 40 Amp output, the eCharge unit delivers at the vehicle's accepted rate without issue.
